Celebrating color in the early winter landscape

Thank goodness for Japanese maples, camellias and late blooming chrysanthemums!

Early in the season, the Japanese maple had rusty-red leaves
Then the leaves turned a brilliant red
Now the leaves are a dazzling pink-magenta color, blanketing the ground
The burning bushes turning color very late in the season, gaining more color as the leaves from the silver maple fall, and allow more sun onto the bushes
The start of the camellia season which will continue into March and April
Oak leaf hydrangeas slowly turning purple
Add a jolt of yellow from the chrysanthemums
