The concept drawing is the first step of the journey towards creating your own special space
The concept drawing is a basic sketch that outlines the main areas of interest and concerns for the client and landscape designer. The concept drawing addresses the broader concerns of the landscape such as:- do we need a privacy hedge at one side of the property? Do we need shrubs to soften a chain link fence? Where could we have a butterfly plant bed? Do we want lots of seasonal interest or is it more important to have evergreens ? What kind of soil do we have? Do we need amendments? How much maintenance are we really going to do?
The concept drawing is an important part of the design process as it helps both the client and designer to be “on the same page.” Once the client and designer reach a mutual understanding of what the design involves, the landscape design and installation costs can be drawn up based on the client’s budget.
