Alamance County in North Carolina in December is perfect for….

……upgrading and replacing a woodland pine bark path to…path with rake…..A path with Chapel hill gravel. This path circles a fire pit, in the middle of a shaded clearing. We put down landscape fabric first to discourage weeds growing in the gravel.

view with blue garden shedAlmost half way there…let’s hope it does n’t rain too much as predicted for tonight…

The weather is perfect right now to prepare paths and stone walls in readiness for next spring…and plant spring bulbs.

squirrel proofDon’t forget to ‘squirrel-proof’ any planters with tulips…these planters are covered with chicken wire which will be pulled off once the bulbs start to send out shoots.

Thank goodness for camellias, for gorgeous color going into the winter.
